Annnnnd I’m back with my next auto review! I had such a fantastic time collaborating again with Ford Canada. This time around we decided to step it up a bit (literally) and hop into an SUV. <Enter 2017 Ford Escape Titanium>. Before we get into all the details of my experience, let’s look at some…
Model: Escape Titanium
Starting Price: $30,006
Colour: White Platinum (9 options)
Okay, so, my last review with the Ford Focus Titanium was extremely detailed and I gave the full rundown on the Titanium package. Given that the Escape was also a Titanium, there are many elements that are identical in terms of functionality, so I’m going to refrain from repeating myself in this post. If you haven’t had a chance to look at my review on the Focus Titanium, or simply need a refresher on some feature details, you can do so here.
Now onto the juicy stuff. The most important point I want to get across in this post is how extremely versatile this vehicle is. What do I mean by versatile? Well, let me put it this way: I live in downtown Vancouver, work 45-minutes out of the city, and have friends and family scattered all over. It’s important to have a car that can take me where I need to go, but also where I want to go. Basically, I need something that is ~compact~ enough to drive downtown, but comfortable enough to go on longer drives and road trips.
I was also impressed with how extremely fuel-economic this vehicle was. I drove over 400km with one tank of gas! This includes city-driving/stop-go traffic, which uses up the most. Some other features that I really enjoyed with the Ford Escape Titanium:
1. So. Much. Room.
Aside from the car comfortable seating 5 adults (& 8 beverages – very important for long drives), the center dash was super spacious and there were a number of compartments. I could have two drinks in the upholders, and still fit my lipstick, phone, keys, facial mist, wallet in the misc compartments and center dash.
2. Apple CarPlay!
This was I loved having this feature and being able to connect my phone to the car and seeing the display as though I would on my actual phone! Was able to access some of my apps and hands-free text messaging
3. Power Seats.
This is pretty standard and available in most vehicles out there, but I have my reasons for highlighting this feature in particular! I was genuinely impressed with the precision of the adjustments and control. Good power seats are super important to me and something I look for in a car because I suffer from neck and back pain and can use all the help I can get with my posture. I was able to reach my desired seating adjustment, which resulted in zero discomfort or strain while I was on the road! I haven’t had this experience with seats in other cars I have driven (including luxury vehicles), so this really stood out for me.
4. Power Panoramic Vista Roof®
Having a panoramic sunroof was amazing! It let in so much light, even on the gloomiest of days. This really elevated my mood, especially on the long early morning rides to the office. I also prefer fresh air to AC, so being able to roll down/push back so much window was great.
5. Suitable for Any Lifestyle
Said this before, and I’ll say it again: this car is versatile AF. Whether you are making moves solo, as a couple, a family with children, or with your pet and live in the city or in the suburbs, this car will work for you. It’ll take you wherever, whenever!
Overall, I’d have to rate my experience with this vehicle as a 10/10 within its class and category. I think the price is also very reasonable, given all of the amazing features you are getting + it’s easy on the eyes too ;). Sleek + chic. I hope you enjoyed reading about my experience and found this helpful if you are in the market for a new whip!
Until next time –
